Weird Problem - Can Anyone Solve This ?!

I makes svcds all the time , but just recently I converted an AVI file to svcd , it played fine on my dvd player (Panasonic) but a lot of my friends have Sony dvd players and for some reason it kept freezing on Sony dvd players after 10 mintutes (I thought Sony were meant to be good ?!) , yet when friends with cheap dvd players run it it plays fine.

So the question is , why is it freezing on Sony dvd players but playing fine on cheapo dvd players ?

Any sugggestions or ideas however wacky would be appreciated.

ps it freezes on 3 different types of Sony dvd player , all purchased recently.

Certain media works better on certain players. Try changing the media and see what happens. Also I have an exspensive sony player I bought about 4 months ago, can't remember the model because it's in the closet. I have 3 JVC cheapies running instead. Maybe it's just certain Sony's but I am unhappy with mine.
