Greetings, I've been trying to encode a file for about 2 months, the video is fine my problem is the audio. I've created an MP3 of the audio and tried VBR (128Kbps) encoding and CBR encoding. They both end up leaving the audio and video completely out of sync.
The length of the video and MP3 files are identical. I attempted to make an MP3 wave file and use that, it created a WORSE problem as it thought the audio was no 46 hours long instead of 22 minutes.

I know I am missing something as other people have been quite successful in adding MP3 files to an OGM file. Clue me in here? Is this a FAQ, I could not find it searching the forum.

I appreciate any useful answers (such as read blah blah blah or inform me what I'm doing wrong). BeSweet suggests the WAV AVI, but it is far worse (sigh).

your video source isn't realmedia by any chance is it?
because some realmedia stuff actually has a variable frame
rate. that screwed me up forever. use tmpg.
