DivX Fusion Error when using Multipass

After installing this latest beta, I cannot use Multipass encoding. My original attempt was using GKnot .33.1 with the DVD "Troy" as source. Following the normal Gknot method (Doom9 guides) I get an error when I go to actually encode (error -100 in VDubMod). I tried the same avs script in VirtualDub 1.6.2 with Multipass, 1st Pass and I get the error. When I take the same exact setup, change the encoding to 1-pass, all is well. Any ideas?

IDK since I don't use the beta divx but gknot had a similar problem with xvid when their new beta's came out that it wasn't setting the correct registry values because they changed since the last stable release. Perhaps your having the same problem. Try doing multipass using vdub/vdub mod job control rather than though gknot.

I also had once this error. - And i never was able to find a clear reason...
When i remember right, on forums.virtualdub.org (http://forums.virtualdub.org/) you shuold be able to find entries telling you it would be caused by bad memory modules or to fast memory timings.

However, even if the hardware is ok, i guess it's a question of time (and software installations) until Win32 systems will cause memory problems... ;)

To be sure, make a hardware memory test or check the advices on forums.virtualdub.org (http://forums.virtualdub.org/).

Although the memtest is a great idea, I had just finished an encode of Butterfly Effect with the standard 5.2.1 about an hour before. Once I isntalled the new codec...no go. I'll try removing it and running it with the old divx and see what happens

Are you still using gknot? try running the new fusion codec through vdub or vdubmod by directly loading the source or avs into it instead of going through gknot. also remember to hit restore defaults before trying to set the settings as it may or may not have an effect on errors. and remember that since this is a alpha codec there is no guarantee that it will work on your particular machine. After reading up on it there are certain systems that it doesn't quite work on yet...IDK what specific reasons or hardware however.
