Protected ASX to DivX for my standalone player. Is it possible?

I have some sport videos downloaded from my subscription to a sports site. The files are .ASX and can only be played in Windows Media Player. I remember that at the beginning of the subscription I had to download a licence to Media Player for they to work. Now I like to burn these ones on some cds to play them in my stand alone player. I use Dr DivX 6 to convert almost all my material without problems but these files are protected and until now I have not found a way to do anything with them.
How can I do this? There has to be a way arround this situation. I have payed for this content.

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

As far as I know, .asx is a Windows Media Player "playlist" Active Streaming XML file.

It contains links to A/V content, not A/V.

I appreciate your help. Sorry for the very late answer (son't know why I was not subscribed to this thread). In this case the ASX files had the content inside, they were not just a link. This is because they were downloaded for viewing locally, but after the license expired the files became useless locally.

The only way to record this content appears to be to re-capture it from the screen while playing. Is there a good program to capture on-screen video with good results? I have seen very nice game footage recorded but have no idea how to do it. I used Camtasia Studio in this particular case with the ASX files and the results were not optimal, the resulting video was jerky.

Fraps works with any DirectX game or video - if it's a large video format, or if you have a slow computer, it'll probably capture jerky since it converts in realtime to uncompressed AVI.
