xvid implemented in ffdshow

Which xvid-Version (code / tree / build) is actually implemented in ffdshow (newest Build from Celtic_Druid from 5.1.2005) ?

afaik there is no XviD code in FFDShow. FFDShow has it's own MPEG-4 decoder in libavcodec that obviously can decode the MPEG-4 codec called XviD. Alternatively you can set FFDShow to use the ("external") XviD direct show decoder installed on your system when you set XviD decoding to "XviD" instead of "libavcodec" in FFDShow's decoder settings. In this case it will use the XviD version you installed :)..

Well, I wanted to write the same thing yesterday, but I assumed that he wanted to know which version of XviD ffdshow's VfW encoder uses (which does support XviD). I'm not sure if it comes with ffdshow or also relies on the installed XviD core DLLs, though...

AFAIK, it uses the dll installed with your Xvid build
if you install an "old" 0.9 build, it'll show Xvid 0.9 in the encoding tab
and if you install a newer 1.x build, you'll see Xvid 1.0 instead.
At least, it was like that.
When Xvid 1.0 was at it's beginning, I switched quite often between the 0.9 and 1.0 cores and tried some encodes in ffdshow.

That means the settings in the ffdshow-xvid-vfw-encoder are used
with my installed xvid-dlls? (in my case 1.03)
And ffdshow-vfw-encoder do NOT have his own xvid-code implemented?
Just asking You again to verify that I understand You. (I'm from Germany)

That means: if I encode something using ffdshow-xvid-vfw-encoder I'm automaticly using exactly the same Version as the "naked" xvid.

Yes, ffdshow will use the DLLs from your installed Xvid build, either by Koepi ou any other build.
