View Full Version : DVD Registers - Lost while playing?

Hello!

I have created a DVD bith a multilingual menu. In one GP-Register, the menu-language is stored: After playing, a command sequence jumps to the menu, defined by that number.

This Register is set before entering the menu where to select the titles. Everything works fine, when just playing one title. But when playing multiple titles, WinDVD just returns to the language-selection menu (I inserted that as an error protection, if Register is not set (properly)).
Unfortunately I can't test it in PowerDVD, as it doesn't play any DVDs at the moment  , and Sonic DVD PrePlay can't skip the titles, so it would take 2 hours to test it.
But I am sure it worked in former times in PowerDVD, and i think it also worked in the DVD Meastro simulator (unfortunately, I don't have the (complete) project files anymore  ).

So the question is: Should I insert a

MOV GP3, GP3

into the command sequence between the titles, or is this just a WinDVD bug?

Try using pgcedit and trace trough the dvd to see if and where things goes wrong.

It works perfectly in PGCEdit, it works perfectly in Windows Media Player, and I will now test it in two standalone players.

This is probably really a bug of the nasty WinDVD-crap-software

I've been going mad over some dvd in the past as well. Everytime I played it through windvd my bov wouldn't work, while I was quite sure I did it correctly. After a couple of times I tried it on my standalone and it worked perfectly.

On my standalone it does not work either.

How the hell should I debug it, if DVD Maestro Navigation Simulator does not find the error, and Windows MediaPlayer, PGCEdit and PowerDVD don't do so either?
