Encoding video for playing it on digital camera

Hi everyone! I hope you'll excuse me for my poor english.
I would like to encode a video for playing it on a nikon 4100 digital camera. Anyone knows if digital cameras need a special header and if exists a program to create it?

I would assume it's probably a proprietary format. Even if it has an install disc so your computer can play back video the camera creates, that's probably a decoder only.
