OK, Please dont flame me - I tried to search and a google search as well, I'm sure I must be missing something simple.

I create a project in DVD Maestro, import my assets 1 m2v and 1 ac3 stream, make my playlist, add my chapters, and of course, add a layer break...however, after compiling into VOB files I examine the IFO files with IFOEdit, and I cannot find the layer break inserted. I have also clicked on properties for the project in Maestro and have noticed that the "Dual Layer Option" section is all grayed out.

Is this a separate add-on feature for Maestro ? or am I just a moron ?

Thanks,

Pooka

after compiling, build to a disc image.

iirc (and is definately the case with DVDSP) DVDMaestro stores the layer break info in the .LAY file till you try to write to DLT, then as it creates the disc image (either directly to DLT or to hdd) and puts in the layer break stuff. mount the image and open the ifo to make sure ;)

Ahhh, always wondered why there was a .lay file in with there. So, I assume I have to use Maestro to build the image, correct? (asking because I do not have an ASPI layer running right now, and would like to avoid it if possible.)

I have other tools to build ISOs (DVDShrink, IFOEdit, MagicISO) but I guess they wouldn't know what to do with a .lay file.

Thanks for your help, auenf.

from memory, you dont need ASPI for dvdmaestro to build an image, but yes, get DVDMaestro to create the image, then burn that image with dvddec or something.

Well, my version of Maestro requires ASPI to make the image, but got the wnaspi32.dll file (adaptec 4.6 build) copied it into Maestro's installation directory and now it works. So all is well, and yes, the layer break was in the IFO after building the image.

Thanks so much for your assistance.
