Nero Recode 2 wont give me a Nero Digital option

I got all of the updates for Nero but reoode does not have an option to convert a DVD-video to Nero Digital. This is probably a big noob mistake but I cant figure out whats going on.

Nero recode 2.2 only have these options:
1.DVD to DVD
2.Main movie to DVD
3.Remake DVD

Lost these options :

4.Recode DVD to NeroDigital
5.Recode Main movie to NeroDigital

Help me pls. How to fix this problem.

I have the same problem.

I had to uninstall Nero and NVE, clean the registry and then reinstall NVE to have the Nero Digital option. Whenever I install Nero, the option disappears :( So right now I only have NVE installed. And will have to redo the same thing to be able to burn stuff...

My 2-cents advice : erase the following directory : "C:/Documents and Settings/your_name/Application Data/Ahead"

It would be cool if upgrading was working or alternatively documented :eek:

Buy the Nero Digital key. Or, set the PC's time to Nov-Dec. 2004, delete all the serials you have (especialy if you're using a pirated version of Nero :devil: ) and install the trial (you'll have all the options you need). And if it ain't work... reinstall Windows :D :D :D , then set the PC's time to...same shit.

But... buy a licence! Nero Digital AVC worths it! (I love my 20Mb music videos in FullD1 resolution and with CD Quality sound!)

P.S. The advanced settings in startsmart has nothing to do with it.

Call me stupid, maybe this is a problem with the licence, but I don't get the two last options ("Recode DVDs and Videos to Nero Digital" and "Recode Main Movie with Nero Digital") in Nero Recode 2.2...

Could anyone help me? I got the latest NVE30114.exe, downloaded it yesterday...

This problem is caused by not having an appropriate serial number.

To see what serial number(s) you have, launch Nero and select Help->Enter New Serial

If you purchased Nero in a store, you will have a "Nero 6" serial number, but if you downloaded the trial and purchased a key online you will have "Nero 6 Ultra" serial. Nero 6 Ultra does not include the Nero Digital options in Recode.

Many options in all the Ahead products are variable. They appear or disappear depending on the serial number(s) used. This is quite confusing to new users, but it makes sense for Ahead to make one product and sell it at multiple price points and use the serial number to enable or disable features.

If you want to make sure you get all the features, go buy the boxed version, and then go online and buy all the available plug-ins.

Not always true... I got Nero (OEM) with all the juice with my DVD recorder.
I bought the f%$&ing plugins and recode dint work at all (it was still asking for the plugins!!!).
I contacted the ahead support, i reformatted hundreds of times and finally...
Once i removed everything, downloaded the updates and reinstalled the stuff i downloaded - IN A PRECISE ORDER - and given the serials - IN A PRECISE ORDER - it worked, but i had to manually clean the registry first.
So, i think the serial handling is seriously b0rked (as well as Nero Recode).
I promised that was the last time i buy something from ahead "buggy" software.

You are correct SharkTooth. The installation order and the order the serial numbers are entered is important, particularly if you have had any Ahead products installed previously.

Ahead has a General Clean Tool (http://www.nero.com/us/General_Clean_Tool.html) available on their website which will remove all traces of their software from your computer (hopefully). Before installing any of the updated software packages, you should definitely uninstall all previous versions and run the Clean Tool.

Deffo give the clean tool a try.

Open the Nero Product Centre (Default:C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero StartSmartNeroStartSmart.exe) and click "Serial Numbers". See what features are enabled within the whole Nero Package. ;)

You are saying that the Nero 6 Ultra Edition (download and purchase of key) does not include Nero Digital?

I looked for confirmation of that on the Nero web site, and found none. Do you have a reference for that? If that is the case, Ahead needs to make that very clear on their web site--that the "Ultra" edition, despite its name, is not the full Nero program.

Are you saying that someone who already purchased the "Ultra" edition (downloaded) has to then also purchase a boxed edition, in order to get Nero Digital features?

Not only did I not find a confirmation of this anywhere on the Nero web site, I just found a statement that contradicts this assertion:

Following is a quote from the Nero Digital web page (http://www.nerodigital.com/enu/Consumer_Solutions.html)



"Nero Digital™ content can currently be created with Nero 6 Ultra Edition - the ultimate all-in-one digital media solution."




According to that statement, on the Nero web site, the Nero 6 Ultra Edition does include the capability to create Nero Digital content.


The question is, then, why do some not have Nero Digital as an option in Nero Recode 2? (I'm having the same problem mentioned by others.)

As someone else stated earlier, it's likely a serial number issue. Between 3.0.1.27 and 3.1.0.0 it's likely that Nero blacklisted some numbers they thought were invalid or pirated. If in doubt, try re-entering the number or contacting Nero to see if your serial number is correct.

it IS a serial problem.
I had thesame problem and it drove me crazy.
You need, beside the Nero Ultra serial, serials for Nero Digital, HE audio, etc. When you enter them (that you can do if you start up Nero Vision Express and then in the low left corner on the ? button)
After you entered the extra serials all works fine.

I've found that I MUST run Nero6 directly after install of it (the first package) and apply my serial#. And first after that continue with install of the other packages (NVE).
If I install all packages after each others and after that runs Nero6 (and apply serial) then I never get the right possibilities in NVE.
