hello I burned a DVD and it won't play on my xbox but does on my brothers and we got the systems at the same store same day. Do I just need to get a new system?

it maybe you have different drives, there are 2 differnt drives for the xbox one is a samsung and the other a thomson, if you have a samsung drive you can play alot more media types than with the other one.
Hope this helps , also try over at vcdhelp.com and xbox-scene.com

Even some xbox drives by same manufacturers won`t always read dvd rewriteables.
I managed to get mine reading everything but dvd rewriteables :(

I'm not really sure what to suggest now, try burning the disk at 1X did you get your xbox first? maybe your laser is a little weaker?
