3ivx Pre-Release vs. DivX Plasma Alpha

I've compared 3ivx to DivX Plasma with low bitrates (so far) and I'm pleased with 3ivx's results over those of DivX Plasma. Why?

At "best" quality (selected in the innovative new quality meter), 3ivx outperformed DivX Plasma in these ways (determined by an average of 10 short anime clips with a variety of action/still/med-motion scenes, all at 11.888fps and ~55 seconds:

So, at a lower quantizer (average), at nearly 2.5 times the speed, 3ivx outperforms DivX Plasma, both at their highest quality settings.

However, the subtitles (hard-subs, integrated) showed up a tiny (pretty noticeable? Both are hazy) bit better with DivX Plasma, even at DivX's higher quantizer.

At equal quantizer, this is much more easily noticed:

Uh... maybe it's me, but 3ivX in your screenshots show MAJOR block issues which are almost completely absent in DivX. The 3ivX shots also seem to have more mosquito noise. I'd say from the screenshots that DivX won handily. Maybe you just picked bad frames for the comparison.

not the most origanal choice for anime encode but well known
and yeah
dvix was way better in those ss maybe you should have posted a short segment of the encode rather than stills
after all
naruto isn't lisanced outside of Japna yet

Is this performance for speed or quality? I'm not even wearing my glasses and I could still see that the blocking in 3ivx is much more pronounced.
