I found some tutorials somewhere here but lost them :(

I have 3 DVDs which are each 1.5GB in size. (Small anime series), I want to put all three episodes on a single DVD.

Each episode has 2 audio tracks (Eng and Jap) and a single subtitle track (english).

What I want to do with the DVD is create a menu where I can select which episode to play and also and options menu to select which audio stream to play and whether to show subtitles.

So far I have not come accross an authoring program that can do that.

Any help or points in the right direction are appreciated :).

You need to find an app that accepts vobs as input or demux the dvd to it's elementary streams (audio/video/subs).

I believe both tmpgenc dvd author and dvdlab (pro) take vobs as input (and demux them on the fly).

After that you can create a simple (or advanced if you wish) dvd menu so you'll be able to choose the movie and chapters/audio etc).

And if you can't find a program that accepts your vobs you need to demux them to their elementary streams and author the dvd manually.

demuxing is not a problem (VOBEdit can handle that)

I'll look further into TMP DVDAuthor (I believe it doesn't like multiple audio streams)

An easy way is to use dvdstyler (http://dvdstyler.sourceforge.net), a gui for dvdauthor, it accepts vobs as input and is really easy to use, and freeware, of cource. The commands for audiotracks is "audio=0" for first track and "audio=1" for second track and so on. To turn a subtitle on use "subtitle=0" (gor first subtitletrack but you did only have one, right) and "subtitle=62" to turn it of. Rest of it is just clicking and dragging (I told you it's easy :p).

Regards,
M7S

Edit: DVDstyler doesn't allow custom commands only standard jumps :( :o I wonder why

Dimad has been so nice to provide me with a copy of dvdremake pro. I must say I'm impressed by it's abillity and easy way of merging two dvds while keeping everything in tact.

It does come at a price though. It's no freeware and you cannot download a demo version that provides output, so you can see for yourself.

There are also free alternatives to do what you want. Those will probably mean a lot of work from your side, so that's a tradeoff you need to make.

How well does this feature work?
Are the resulting DVDs playable on any DVD-Player?
Can the "choose-disc-menu" be customized?

It's shurely a great feature, if it does work, but how should I test it out, without being able to export DVDs?
I have some DVDs to merge together, but 40$ are much money to me, as I am still a student.

So how are your experiences?

I totally agree on that. Unfortunately Dimad decided to make the evaluation version like that.

I tested the merge function which seems to work perfectly. Didn't test it on a standalone, but on a software player. You can adjust the newly added menu, so you can add a custom one. There's a guide on the dimadsoft site on how to do that.
