i am thinking its bad media

Bingo

Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD-R:CMC MAG. AF1]

CMC is also referred to as Cheaply Made Crap, because of its unreliability and low quality.

Verbatim MCC and Ricoh are among the best.

If you can't even burn on them then you likely have the wrong media. Your CMCs are DVD-Rs, and Ricoh is DVD+RW.
What burner do you have ? If it can only burn to DVD+, then you need DVD+, not DVD-.

oh sorry my bad, my drive supports all media type, but its just that i mation disks dont work, i can burn on them but it fails every time ( error at random stages during burning). i bought some verbitam disks(-R) today and tried them, it works fine too. and those verbitam disks were made by mcc.

brief history of my dvd burning:
i started with a 20 disk spindle made CMC none of them worked. i went back to the shop and told them what happened they give me some single imation disks (after dvd identifier, they are still made by CMC!!!) but only one worked....... hell!!!!. then i bought some verbitam and ricoh disks...... ahh, heaven!!

Verbatim on spindles might be CMC as well! (www.cdr-info.de lists some Verbatim on spindles and in DVD-cases that are CMC)

All jewel case and slim case seem to be MCC or TY, though

things hasnt been going very well for me lately. i bought a sony dvd camcorder for xmas, it had a promotional offer thingy (a free sony dvd player, the slim one). they give me the wrong one - a camera bag with two AA batteries. the camera bag doesnt fit my camcorder anyway. and AA battries? what?
