...so I've been surfing around looking for solution to a high-quality "TV-out" solution for a HTPC.

I've got some DVD's and DivX/XviD backups that I'd like to be able to watch, with as high image quality as possible from a HTPC.

In short, a HTPC solves all wishes in the ability to play games, listen to music etc, with one exception; image quality on movies.

The TV-out's on today graphic cards is a joke I think, quality-wise. It has to be somethign better, especially if you're gonna blow up the image on a projector.

As I see it, there's some alternatives. Either get a hardware transcoder of some sort for the VGA or DVI output, or get an Xcard or something similar.

As I've understood it, this card is quite buggy? It also doesn't handle GMC and 1/4 pixel. Anyone with experiences?

I've heard that the image quality should be good. Is this a good alternative? Anyone with experiences?

More transcoders. Good? Bad?

...then there's simple adapters like this one:

...or perhaps a graphic card with HDTV capabilites? Are there such carsd on the market?

Has someone here tried anything of the above, or has good tips on a good solution for putting the HTPC/movie picture on a projector? :)
