I'm trying to backup a DVD that has lpcm sound and am having two problems. I solved one, but list both in case the second is related to the first.

1) D2D failed at the authoring stage. After some searching, I found this thread http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=70815&highlight=pcm with a similar problem. Fixed the problem by going to the audio tab, unchecking "do not convert", converting to 224 bit audio then, while CCE is encoding the video, using AC3Machine to convert the encoded audio file to AC3. Authoring worked and video and sound seem fine.

2) Subtitles failed. D2D extracted all 917 of the subitles into the subs directory, and I can view the image files. However, instead of creating an .xml file in the subs directory with all the timecodes, etc. (as D2D usually does), it created a stub .xml file without any timecodes or image files listed. Needless to say, the final DVD did not include any subtitles.

Alas, I deleted my log files, but can run DVD2SVCD again to re-create them if that would help. I didn't see any useful error codes when I looked (main log file looked fine, sub log file showed 0 subs).

The movie is the Magic Flute, Swedish with English subtitles.

Any thoughts?
