I just got Stargate SG1 Season 7 on DVD for christmas. I decided that I would try to convert the episodes to xvid. I followed all the steps in the guide for autogk, and even tried normal gk. Both files have an sync issue. After loading the video and audio separately, I noticed that the audio is 1 second shorter in windows media player. I have had to deal with issues like this before when I encoded my own TV captures, but not with a DVD rip. I also got Buffy Season 7 for christmas. I put that through the same setup in autogk, and it came out just fine.
I did notice something in the DVD Decrypter stream information txt file.
SG1:
0x80 - Audio - AC3 / 6ch / 48kHz / DRC / English / LBA: 27 / PTS: 00:00:00.280 / Delay: -66ms
0x81 - Audio - AC3 / 2ch / 48kHz / DRC / English - Director's Comments / LBA: 28 / PTS: 00:00:00.280 / Delay: -66ms
0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 / 720x480 (NTSC) / 16:9 / Letterboxed / LBA: 1 / PTS: 00:00:00.347 / Delay: 0ms
Buffy:
0x80 - Audio - AC3 / 2ch / 48kHz / DRC / English / LBA: 16 / PTS: 00:00:00.191 / Delay: 0ms
0x81 - Audio - AC3 / 2ch / 48kHz / DRC / Français / LBA: 17 / PTS: 00:00:00.191 / Delay: 0ms
0x82 - Audio - AC3 / 2ch / 48kHz / DRC / Español / LBA: 18 / PTS: 00:00:00.191 / Delay: 0ms
0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 / 720x480 (NTSC) / 4:3 / LBA: 1 / PTS: 00:00:00.191 / Delay: 0ms
I was wondering why on the sg1 audio track it says Delay: -66ms, and on the buffy audio tracks it matches the video?
Since I figured it was only a second off...I tried some things.
One thing that I tried was going into nandub and altering the delay setting in there. I set it to 1000ms or 1 second. It actually worked quite well. The audio is very close to how it should be, but not perfect. It also messes up the audio when the MGM lion is roaring at the beginning. (if any one has watched these you know what i mean)
I also thought about trying to delete 1 second from the start of the video, but vdub doesnt seem to like to trash 1 sec out of a video.
Does anyone have any suggestions...Or has anyone tried this, and got it to work perfectly.
I also put in a B5 season 4 disc, and it has the same -66ms delay listed.
Thanks in advance..
