capturing vhs using a dvd recorder. How can i apply filters afterwards?

Hi,

I want to get my old vhs tapes to dvd, so what im doing is recording to dvd with my liteon 5004 dvd recorder to a dvdrw.

Once on that, id like to them apply some filters to it on the pc and convert it to an avi and hopefully clean it up a bit.

Can anyone help me with this?

First you will need to rip the dvd files using something like DVDDecypter. Use DGIndex to create a .d2v file. From there you use DGDecode to load it into your avisynth script and apply the filters to it like you would anything else.

from the german doom9 board, a user showed up the awful VHS-capping abilities of a liteon DVD-Recoder.

I think, it would be more wise investing in a TV-Card.

well i only have a few tapes to do, so i dont really think that buying a capture card would be worth it. Im getting ok results with my liteon 5004. Howeveri just would like to clean the video up any way i can.
