We know than current hardware divx decoders can't decode xvid video encoded with gmc but can decode divx gmc for the most recent players.
I know that xvid gmc uses 3 warppoints whereas divx gmc uses only one.
So maybe the hardware incompatibility comes from this number of warppoints and hardware decoders can only uses 1 warppoint.
Here comes my question, can the devellopers add a 1 warppoint option in xvid to help hardware compatibility?

Pretty sure that this has been covered before and that Syskin or one of the other XviD dev's said that 1 warp point GMC is so useless that you would be better off without it.

So if you want compatibility, turn XivD's GMC off.

Celtic Druid is right.
One warpppoint GMC is useles. If XviD's GME (global motion estimation) finds out that the "optimal" GMC vertor has only one warppoint, encoder just disables GMC for the frame. At least two must be found.
