View Full Version : Low volume with AC3 playback

I simply cannot get the volume to a desirable level. I've got my system volume all the way up, and changing the volume in the ac3filter control panel does nothing, nor does messing with my ffdshow audio settings. Anyone have any advice?

In ac3filter control panel, choose loud preset under main tab

Of course, I do that and nothing. Do I maybe need to reboot or something?

Are you sure that AC3Filter is used in your filter chain?

I'm looking in the ffdshow control panel, and under codecs AC3 shows libavcodec liba52

Should it show AC3filter?

Are you using SPDIF or analog for your connection?

It should show "disabled" if you want ac3filter to decode it (of course the latter must be properly installed)

I guess that would make sense....because I have ac3filter installed, it just seemed as if it was not being utilized
