Help with Ulead VideoStudio 8

I am trying out the above program. It seems OK (I was using Premier Pro but of course the trial times out and I can't afford to buy it), but I can't seem to find out how to add video clips to the timeline without them snapping to the end of the previous clip. I need to be able to position clips where I choose not where Ulead wants me to put them.

Does anyoine know if this is possible?

personally, i would seriously suggest using another developing program.
ulead is the worst software i have come across. maybe you can learn to
use avisynth and graphedit with virtualdub/nandub/virtualdubmod.

it may take more knowledge, but the results are much better.
if you can't get those, then you can try tmpgenc.

Been a while since I checked here...

Thanks for your help. I moved on to Media Studio 7 (another Ulead product) which does what I want it to (though the prog itself lacks some refinement).
