i have a sony dru-530a dvd recorder. burning dvds in my recordnow! works;no problem at all. but then,i got this error message when i tried burning a dvd+R with nero burning ROM.
Invalid Field in command
SONY Dru-530A \ H1 T0
Invalid Track info

i have no idea what the first two lines are, but im guessing from line three, that i have to update firmware. tell me if im wrong here.

currently, i have 1.0d. so i went to the firmware page (http://www.firmware.fr.st/) and checked,
my drive (http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1719)
and there were these newer firmware: 2.0a, 2.0c, 2.1a, 2.1b, 2.1c, 2.1g.

but since im a newbie at this, i have no idea about firmware and what the risks are. wouldn't installing a wrong one corrupt my drive? if so, please tell me which one i should install. i don't really care about the upgrade to burning dvd-R at 8x, since i use dvd+R and i don't have any dvd-R, but should i install all of the above, or would only installing 2.1g be enough?

Hi there keisukey, my advice is just go ahead and update your drive's firmware to the latest available. Make sure it's the correct version for your dvd recorder though ...
Hope all goes well.
