I am trying to make a DVD backup using DVD shrink. I use reauthor and remove the extra audio + subtitles but it is only going to be around 80% Quality. Does anyne have a tutorial or can direct me to information so that I can up the quality? I hear about all of these diffrent types of formats. My XBOX is modded so it can play all types but I do not know how to make a DVD play with the Quality that I want besides using DVD shrink but the quality goes down a lot ussualy.

First off, burn the results produced by DVD Shrink and see if you like the output. Chances are you won't notice the difference compared to the original. If you don't like it, you should look into re-encoding the video (read the guides (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/dvdencoding.htm)) with TMPGEnc for example. Be aware that high quality encoding may easily take over 10 hours.

And finally, if you're still not satisfied by the quality, you can purchase a dual-layer burner and make exact copies. Blank media is expensive though.

If you are using Shrink 3.2. Use deep analysis and turn on the default AEC setting. It will increase the quality considerably. Anyway, 80% quality will still be excellent.

If you re-encode, the quality will not be much different and take a lot longer. It won't be worth re-encoding unless the percentage is more like 70% and below.

I wouldn't remove subtitles especially if it's one of those movies that contains tidbits of foreign dialogue which occassionally pops up subtitles so you can follow. Subtitles is so minimal too outta 4,489MB your talking removing perhaps 30MB which is 0.007% so it's really a moot point. Instead edit the start/end frames and eliminate the credits...sometimes those are 500MB or more.

If you really like the movie, use DVDFab and get a perfect copy. Dvdr's are so cheap now the cost of going with 2 disks is negligible.
