Hi, I use to play my DivX movies an home DVD Player mpeg4 compatible. Unfortunately in my house I have all televisions in format 4/3 1.33:1 and when I encode my movie encoded using AutoGK the resulted is a DivX with 16:9 aspect not letterboxed (if original are 16:9).
In this mode unfortunately playing it on my televisions the movie presents images stretched and real dimensions are not respected.
Are not possible improve the program in order to permit user to choose the aspect of the DivX output that he wants?
Is a good idea if is user to choose the ratio 16:9 or create a DivX in format 4:3 keeping the black bands on the top and the bootom of movie, without cropping, if the movie are in Widescreen, in order to create DivXes in the correct format for their television that user have.

Nothing have theese problems, as me playing a movie ??
All have Widescreeen televisions at home ?? How is Possible ??

Thanks
Andrea

most mpeg4 players have an option on the SETUP menu that asks what sort of TV (widescreen/Normal) will be used for output. If you have the incorrect TV choice you will have the problems you describe.

However to support your local electronic retailers you must rush out and purchase a 52inch plasma display, widescreen of course! :p

I have an mpeg4 player, used successfully with both 4:3 and 16:9 Tv.. same source discs used..;)

Wolfman's right. An AVI should play properly on both a 4:3 TV and on a 16:9 TV. If yours' don't, then either, as Wolfman suggested, your DVD/MPEG-4 player isn't set up correctly, or your DVD/MPEG-4 player is giving you the wrong AR.

In either case, it's not AutoGK's fault. My AVIs play with proper AR on both my 4:3 and on my 16:9 TV sets.
