AutoGK really needs to sort out the fitting into 1 or 2 CDs business. I know it probably would have really fitted into the 700MB CD, but if someone is encoded plus subtitles then AutoGK could at least be programmed to calculate / to take into account of the size of subtitles. Then 700-subtitles size = what AutoGK should aim to encode the movie at for final size.

Moved to development.

as far as I know, autogk takes subs space in consideration when calculating amounts of mb to asign to sound, video, etc.
plus, autogk aims 700mb not 702 (actual size of CD=bit more than 702). So even if you add subs after the autogk enconding process, you should have enough space without overburning

Interesting. Here's my directory listing (username Sharon):
total 1434751
-rwxr-xr-x+ 1 Sharon None 732973056 Dec 23 17:23 Oldboy.cd1.avi
-rwxr-xr-x+ 1 Sharon None 53426 Dec 23 23:26 Oldboy.cd1.idx
-rwxr-xr-x+ 1 Sharon None 743109 Dec 23 23:26 Oldboy.cd1.rar
-rwxr-xr-x+ 1 Sharon None 734748672 Dec 23 17:26 Oldboy.cd2.avi
-rwxr-xr-x+ 1 Sharon None 45643 Dec 23 23:29 Oldboy.cd2.idx

Take CD1 for example. I added it up and get: 735545207bytes = 718305.9kB = 701.5MB.
Interesting...
(Btw is both the idx and rar(sub) files composulory?)

my english is bad (you will probably have noticed it...) and I dont understand "compulsory".
but yes, you can safely burn 702.3 or .5 or even .9 depending of the brand, burner, software, type of CD (data, etc), etc.

Hi-
Every CD burner I've ever had can burn 701.5 MB without overburning. And also, depending on how len0x rar's them up, you may be able to compress the sub rar file down some more.
Unrar the sub file. Then rar it yourself. First, instead of Normal Compression, use Best Compression. Then go Advanced->Compression->Text Compression->Force. Rar that up and I'll bet you'll save some more space.
And yes, you need both the idx and sub files for playback. When storing on CD (assuming you don't play them off of the CD), you can also rar them together into one big rar file and save a little bit more space.
