I cannot get the latest versions of Gknot to open d2v files. My old version 28 is in c:\Gknot with all the various plugins thrown in the folder and if I uses DVD2AVI 1.76 Gknot 28 opens the D2V file fine.

If I try to use an installed Gknot 28.7 or latest beta 32 (As in using the proper installer to c:\program files\gordianknot\) and use the included DGindex, when I try to open the resulting D2V file I get the error 'File is not a valid d2v project, avi or avs file!'

I googled and someone mentioned putting the DGdecode.dll in the avisynthplugins folder. It's in there!

Tested on 2 different PC's with exactly the same error message.

Uninstalled/installed Gknot latest stable and also tried latest beta.
Loaded MPEG2 .mpg file into DGindex and disabled audio demux. Set to no forced film. Set to PC and YUV out. Saved project.

Try to load resulting d2v file and get the error.

EDIT: Also tried copying Gknot 32 into old 28 folder with same result.

That's an old one, and still an issue it appears, you need to delete the registry keys from GK, uninstall and reinstall the new one..that should do it.

and of course, redo your d2v projects, they're not interchangeable so to speak :)

1) Make sure DGdecode.dll is in the /avisynthplugins dir
2) Make sure GK > Options > MPEG Decoder Library is set to DGdecode.dll
3) Make sure you are using DGMPGDec/DGIndex 1.0.12 to demux the audio and create your .d2v file

Then things should work.

Tried all those before you suggested. Does not work. Old version still opens d2v fine.

well you seemed to suggest you had both versions on your PC, I don't think it would work. If it doesn't work after scrubbing off GK 0.28.8, you're unlucky ;)
