Ok, I recently flashed my bios to the current version. Well tonight while I was at work my gf went looking for a cd and decided to take all the cds off my desk and try them until she came across a cd that ended up being the flash CD. The flash progress obviously got interupted "she said she seen the word Erase" and now when I turn the player on it does nothing.

I see the red standby light when I push power, then I try to hit like Eject and it just turns the light out. I get no video, no disc spinning or anything. Anyone think it is fixable? Like somehow to reset the bios to default? Pretty much looking for any suggestions.

Soln 1

well i can suggest you something just hit your nearby Philps
Service Center it can be found from the philips website.

Soln 2 (Risky Solution)

I dont know this will work but just retry inserting the Flash CD and
retry the firmware upgrade if it happens by chance.

Best i tell you follow solution 1.

Next time hide your Flash CD in some dark place or hide it from the
reach of others to prevent future disasters like this.

well I can't even attempt to reflash it since it doesn't even startup. But good old Amazon is taking care of me. 90 day warranty on the product so they gave me a UPS label to print out and are sending me a new one already. As long as I have the other returned within 30days I don't get charged for the new one. Then again up to 10 days without my Philips is going to be rough. Not to mention it has to happen while on christmas break.

But from now on it will be burn, flash, shred them flash cds.
