I've got an XviD encoded avi, 5ch DTS, split into 2 parts.

If i try and join them together there is a small beep/squeek at the point of join and the volume drops way down. Seeking back to a point after the join gets the volume back up to normal and everything else is fine from there on.

I've tried joining using nandub and Avi-mux gui but both give the same results.

I havent got a lot of experience with DTS and am rather stuck, can anyone help?

Hi and welcome in Doom9...

First, Try to demux audio and video with VirtualdubMOD. Then, append the 2 videos parts with the same tool. For audio, try with DTSTrim (http://home.zonnet.nl/koelooptiemanna/DTSTrim.zip).

When you have joined Audio & Video part, then remux these streams with VirtualdubMOD.

Hi

Thanks for the reply and welcome, I've been lurking on these forums a while :)

Whilst trying this I realised that the problem is actually with the second part of the split avi itself. Joining it just made it more obvious as the squeak then appears.

Simply playing the second avi results in a volume drop a second or so in. Again, seeking back or fowards a frame or so will revert the volume back to normal.

Demuxing and joining again removes the squeak but the volume drop problem remains. I've also tried running the .dts through Besplit with -fix but it makes no difference

It appears to be the same problem mentioned here

I think there is no solution if your source file has this problem. Maybe remaking once again your backup but without split the file you could have more chance...:D
