Hi all again.

My next question. :D

To-day I burned 3 DVD's using only DVD Shrink.

End result, 2 out of the 3 DVD's copies can only be replayed on the drive that did_the_actual_burning.

The 3rd copy can be read in both the ROM drive that ran the original that I was shrinking and also the drive that did the actual burning.

I haven't as yet tried any of the copies on the main DVD player in the lounge connected to the TV as my wife is watching her movie and will not give me access to try them out.

Any suggestions, is this usual?

This is not usual. If you create a compliant dvd it can be read by all players that are able to red dvd-r/+r.

i once or twice had this problem when the burner couldn't properly close the dvd (write lead out) - most of the time you can still it in the burner, but not in other drives... iirc this can have to reasons:

a) faulty media
b) burner bug - in this case you should check if there is a firmware update available, otherwise it might be time to upgrade to a new burner!

PS: and as influenza said, no this is and should not be usual!
