no people, this isn't some sort of endorsement or spam for their online rental thing, unlike that free ipod thread (yah, only if you were the one who started that thread), anyway, i would explain it, but wouldn't you rather read it for yourselves, than listen to my half-ass attempt to explain it (don't answer that!)

Think of it as 9-day rentals, but still with a late fee (a restocking fee)

I read about this last week, but I'm still a bit unclear on exactly how it would work. The forum I was discussing it in even had some BB employee giving the inside scoop on what they were told, but I think the kinks still need to be ironed out.

The BB guy said the movie will be sold at the 'previously viewed' price, which could be a significant discount from the full retail price. So you could go in on release day and get a brand new copy cheaper than at the store. I'm not sure if BB uses the original box or not though.

I'm also unclear on the one week grace period. So if the due date is 5 days later and I return a tape after 6 days do I pay anything extra? If I don't isn't the 'due date' really just a suggestion?

Its all just theoretical to me. I don't have a BB within a hundred miles. Also, by brother just signed me up for Hollywood video's MVP club for Xmas. It's like Netflix but at a retail store and you can't get new releases until 4-5 weeks after they hit the street. 3 out for $10 a month is still a great deal.

i think i'd figure it out:

+2 for games
+7 for movies


you get a 5 day rental + 1 week grace period to return it after the due day, if ain't return during the grace period, you automatically get billed for the movie, you then can return it for a refund, minus an fee

a pretty sure the "restocking fee" is based on how long you take to return it within the 30 days, cause if the fee is only a couple bucks no matter how long you take, it sort of defeats the purpose of buying a game if you have a 37 day rental

it's a good program; if you don't mind the phone calls reminding you to return the rental near the end of the grace period
