BBmpeg crazy??

WTF??? It´s doing something like this "Frame 1000 of 3000", "Frame 1003 of 3000", so on and then "Frame 1050 of 3000", "Frame 1049 of 3000", "Frame 1048 of 3000" ??? Is it going backwards??!?!?! Not only the frame count is crazy, the remaining time is 5h. What? 5hs to encode 21 minutes? Mainconcept does the same job in less than 2hs.

and which cost you what ? look at the age of bbmpeg aswell then compare it to a more modern open source encoder such as QuEnc and compare the speed, its like comparing a VW beetle to a ferrari. :)

I don't know if it is supposed to act like that. It's going backwards literally, It converts a hundread of frames and then goes backwards another hundread of frames and keep looping for some minutes until it finally goes to the next frames, just to start looping again.

Going "backwards" isn't really that strange. Frames are encoded out of order like, 0 3 1 2 6 4 5 9 7 8...but jumping back 100 frames is odd???

no BBMpeg frame count should not be jumping backwards at all. its a frame count.

if you are using avi2mpg.exe then try using avi2mpg_vfw.exe instead.

i've seen it jump back the length of a GOP before, but 100 frames is a little odd. you haven't b0rked your GOP settings have you? there's a reason mpeg-2 is limited to certain GOP lengths.

but yeah, bbmpeg is a little bit old. i'm using QuEnc for that stuff.
