i mostly use dvd-rb on region 3 hk/korean/jap dvds and never ran into any problems on version .67 and before that. since .68 and .69 the runtime 9 error occurs on every disc.

i also have a suggestion for jdobbs to make rebuilder more convenient. add the "create new folder" in the working path "browse for folder" window.

Did you made clean new install or you just copied over the previous versions?

clean new .ini file didn't work either.

i've tried on three different dvds, police story, police story 2, and project a. all three having the same results, runtime error 9 subscript out of range at the end of the rebuild process

Try to unistall avisynth and delete its folders
Then unistall DVD Rebuilder
Re-Install Avisynth
Use my installer (available on downloads section at www.dvdrebuilder.com)
Copy into the created folder the newest DVD-RB version that you have (the installer will install 0.66a)
The give it another try.

since the problem only occurs at rebuild phase, can i just redo the rebuild process rather than redoin the entire dvd?

You can try...
If it fails again I would suggest that you start over... ripping the DVD included.

failed... and i can't rerip the dvd again since it was a rental. i'll prob have to burn it to a dual layered blank. i'll pick a random dvd in my collection and try it again overnite tonite.

this really sucks cuz now that i've tasted good quality encode, i cannot go back to using noncce one-clickers.

the rebuild process didnt even start this time.

well... the truth is that in some countries... making a backup for private use from rental videos is legal :)... don't know is this is the issue here :)

I'll take your word on that.. but since copying rentals falls outside of fair-use, at least as we define it, we really cant encourage that activity (which we would be by ignoring the statement.) I didnt give a strike, just giving an fyi

I agree with you... "rental" word should be banish... just in case :)
