OK I give up, I have looked and looked for a solution to this, and encoded this video at least 10 times. I have used d2sroba, and not used it, changed my cd size from 4350 to 4464 in roba, in dvd2svcd, and in both together. Encoded with subs in .srt, and tried in .sub. Also tried with NO subs.
I have an xvid file with .ac3 audio in 2 pieces (with subtitles). I start vdub, and simply append the file, and start submax and join the .srt file to one. I also tried converting the .srt to .sub microdvd like I had read in another thread. None of that seemed to fix my problem. I am trying yet again right now, so my log isn't availible for another couple hours or so.
Anyhow, here is what happens. My video should be 2:15.11 and audio the same. As soon as cce encodes this each video is still all there, but when I play it, it falsely reports 1:14.15. But, the whole video is there. I also play the .ac3 file, and it is all there and correctly reports its length. (this is both extracted audio.ac3 and encoded audio.ac3) I am using the option do not convert audio, use source audio, so this is as it should be.
Then, when mplex_muxed_file00.mpg is created, the size is only 2.2 gigs, and the video length is cut down to 1:01.56 This is the reported lenght of that video segment, and when I play it, it is actually whats there, about half of the movie is missing. This also seems to be the point where virtual dub appended them. Obviously, from there, things go horribly wrong. The subsequent file, mplex_muxed_file00-subbed.mpg is the same length as the prior non subbed version. My .vobs are then created and of course are too short, as per the dvdimage.iso file.
So, apparently I am doing something wrong. It is either that I am joining them wrong in virtual dub, or, there is a problem with the subs, or a problem with the .ac3 file.
The original video frame rate is 23.976 so of course the same is true of my subs and my audio. In sub max I can choose to change the subs to 29.97, should I? I have been leaving them as 23.976. Also, the audio is 23.976. So, when dvd2svcd runs 3:2 pulldown, is it converting the video to 30 fps and not converting the subs and audio??
Like I said, I will post a log file later, but here is a log from bsplit, I ran the .ac3 through there to see if it would tell me anything, and this may be an anomoly.
