Has anyone tried running LOTR ROTK EE (PAL)? On disc 1, I get a CCE crash on the last segment every time no matter what I do. When I check the ECL files it seems that segment contains only 1 frame and it is set for CBR. Is there really nothing to be done about this? Can't I just skip that one frame somehow or "trick" DVD-RB or CCE somehow?
This is far from the only disc that I have not been able to run, but this time I really want to make sure that nothing can be done.
If not I am left with either CloneDVD or splitting it onto 4 DVD's.

Have you tried OPV, as I sugested in a previous thread?

OPV?

Strange that you have such problems. I did both dvd's with no problems with 9 pass CCE. RB067.

Before I compressed with RB I stripped all audio tracks but DTS and 5.1EX. But that was all I did as pre-processing.

Sounds unlikely that it will solve your problems, but try it.

I stripped the menu and audio tracks (except DTS and DD) using CloneDVD. Also tried with DVDshrink but same result. And you are sure you are talking about Return of the Kin EE PAL? What CCE version are you using?

I did the "nordic" version, but kept the menu which I had compressed with Numenu (5 pass CCE)

I'm using Cinema.Craft.Encoder.SP.v2.67.00.27 (Trial) and EclCCE.v1.81

OPV = One Pass VBR.

The idea is to use RBOpt to change the default encoding for the VOBID where the problematic cell is to OPV.

Another idea would be try encoding with Quenc, and then using the m2v generated for it for the problematic frame for the rebuilding stage.

Have you tried re-ripping the original? May be with a different ripper? (if you did with Decrypter try Shrink and viceversa.)

I just tried opening the ecl in CCE and changing to OPV and then encoding, but it still crashes. I have ripped the ISO's to HD using DVD Decrypter and then stripped unwanted audio ect. using CloneDVD and also tried using DVDShrink.

No need to use any thirdy party application to strip unwanted audio. DVD-RB does the job very well on its own.

In order to strip "ect." give a try to VobBlanker by Jsoto. Most probably your pain will end.

Try ripping again. There exist an opportunity for a small problem in your original ripping that it is causing the troubless. Just for the sake of trying something different, try using a different ripper.

I'm a little confussed: I have in my mind you have at least once processed the DVD with RB withouth any kind of pre-processing and the problems persisted.

If not, and all your different trials were pre-processed material, remember the rule:

"If you experience problems with RB in pre-processed material, try running RB on a no pre-processed source before posting"

I just got a CCE crash again on another movie. This time straight from the disc with no pre-processing. This is really starting to get anoying. I am now trying out Quenc instead

Could i have a bad software setup?

Or you can have hardware problems... like overheating... maybe.

This is just great :( LOTR ROTK EE now encoded fine with quenc, but during rebuild i get the error: "DVD Rebuilder experienced a buffer overflow. Error #0003..."

I used Ifoed to preprocess the Rotk see PAL dvd and it all worked flawlessly first time at 4vbr using cce 2.50 and rb v0.69

The only suggestion I can give you is...
Unistall Avisynth and delete its folders
Delete Rebuilder folders
Re-install AviSynth
Use my installer available at:
http://dvd-rb.dvd2go.org/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=14

(it instals version 0.66a)
Replace 0.66a with the newest version you have

Re-configure the path to CCE

and finnaly give it a try :)

keep it UP
