Hi!
What does the size of avi file in first pass encoding depends on?
When i have been encoding films i have always had avi file in first pass up to 4, 5 MB and then in second it creates file with appropiate size (700 mb for one cd), but now i diom;t know why in first pass it shows me that avi file will be more huge then 4 mb almost 1400 MB for two CD. Why ?????????????

That's because no image data is passed to the AVI file in the first pass. It is only used to collect data on how to perform the second pass. The 4~5MB file you do get is simply the overhead that is in every AVI file. If the data would be written to the AVI file, it would be quite a lot bigger than your desired final size ([1/compression test result] times bigger). Just ignore it, you'll never use the AVI from the first pass anyway.
