I have created an xvid file, which upon playback in media player classic gives me this error. "This AVI file was not prepared for sequential reading, the alternative 'AVI splitter' will now let the deafult one handle it. The complete reinterleaving of this file is strongly recommended before burning it on to a slow media like a cd-rom."

I am still able to play the video but I was wondering what steps I would now need to take with the completed avi file to fix this problem. Thanks in advance.

this doesn't concern XviD really, it's just a matter of how you muxed your Video & Audio into AVI.

just open the file in VirtualDub[mod] and then 'save as' using 'Direct Stream Copy' (and of course a different name)...

i think this should fix it (unless you have to tell Vdub explicitely to mux the file interleaved)
