I thought it was funny how they purport a new media organizing system that tailors to the consumers' needs and wants (ie when to watch/listen/read). However, their flash animation does not have a pause, rewind or play button. Ya, I think they need to listen to their own message.

Although something like this could happen, I don't see the big deal really.

You could always right click and rewind the flash ;).


They seem to pursuade you into thinking that this is highly plausable (must have to be something to do with that music), but it seems like this is likely to happen, just by the evolution of technology. It seem's like they want to warn you about Big "Google" Brother, but also make you marvel at how advanced technology can be.

kinda interesting. it had the sort of vibe that the introductory narration in terminator 2 has.

personally, i'd like to see the demise of the newspaper as we know it - they just cause too much damage how they are (anyone who's read Andrew Bolt or someone similar will know what i'm talking about - people like him seem to fly in the face of all rational thought, yet large numbers of people agree with them). tabloid newspapers seem to weaken democracy substantially, in spite of their claims to support it.

yeah, the google/big brother thing doesn't worry me. everything said there implies consent on the part of the people participating in it - it's the same today - simply don't publish any information publicly that you wouldn't want people to know. it's common sense. encrypted http and similar technologies prevent the really personal stuff from getting onto a search engine. though it's conceivable that if one organization ran the websites for everyone, even encrypted information would be freely available, at least to that organization.
