Looking for a way to play all of my mp4 movies through a simple UI. Is the best way to go right now to create a Access DB or Powerpoint Presentation? The mp4 files I have are NERO's new AVC's. I know there is no GUI authoring software out yet, but I do not want anything fancy. Just scroll through names of movies with brief descriptions and be able to play them. I have 100's of movies and I do not want anybody to accidentally delete them... That's why I don't just open them up from directory.

mp4 itself supports menu's. Check out GPAC. Problem is that I don't think there is a player capable of playing back the menu's and h.264.

hmmm ... i can't get your point clearly. what if sy selects a movie from the list ? it'd be played, i guess. but how (which player, which demuxer, which ds filters, aso, aso) ?
anyway ... u can pile up easily a simple .bat file which starts any (cli) player (say, mpc) with the movie selected. if no matter what player pops up, u can simply pass the filename to the command interpreter. bare-foot solutions, i know, but u 'don't want anything fancy' :-))
