View Full Version : Numenu and Scenarist 2.7 error

I thought this problem was similar to another users problem but since have found this not to be the case, so I will give you the problem again:

I am using the big three (all latest versions set up like the new guide). When Numenu starts up Scenarist v2.7 and scenarist trys to import the script I get the following error:

A problem was found accessing the scsi library: 0xeb

I then am forced to click on the ok button below the message and the import process continues normally without errors. But now scenarist is no longer under Numenu's control and everything stops.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all programs including scenarist to no avail. I have tried installing the forceaspi program (since this problem seemed similar to another users but it didn't help even though there was no aspi layer found before I used forceaspi).

I can use scenarist fine manually importing scripts or creating projects from scratch but can't get it to work with Numenu. Any ideas?

Hi Mac - just thought I'd try and give my 2 cents. Had a similar problem so I installed Nero's wnaspi32.dll in Scenarist dir. That got rid of the problem maybe it'll fix yours too...

I've always had that problem too, and just tried what techniquefreak said and it worked! Thanks! :)

When you say you "installed" it in the scenarist directory, are you saying that you simply copied it there? I have tried that and I still get that error anytime I try to use scripts with scenarist.

Hi Mac. That 0xeb scsi errorcode supposedly means that your aspi drivers aren't correctly installed. Try uninstalling (removing) them from your WINDOWS/system32 folder (hope you're running windows XP Pro SP2 as I) as they're not part of windows XP anyway. Also remove the one you placed in the Scenarist directory and lastly make sure the aspi driver you place there (in \Program Files\Sonic\Scenarist) is named exactly "wnaspi32.dll". You might want to get it from nero's own website just google for nero wnaspi32.dll and you can't miss it. Hope this helps otherwise I'm pretty clueless ...:(

easist thing is to just grab forceaspi or adaptec's aspi and install it systemwide

I tried the force aspi (downloaded from here) and after I installed it i ran the check aspi program and it said that everything was alright. I still get the same problem. I can't import any script into scenarist without getting that error message. After the message, the import proceeds fine and everything works like it should but I lose any automation from that point on.

I will try removing the aspi layer and just use the nero aspi dll and see what that does.

Just a little update, maybe it will help some else that has the same problem. Since forceaspi didn't help, I decided to install wnaspi32.dll from Nero's web site. Everything works fine now. The strange difference I noticed is that adaptec wnaspi32.dll is only 44k long where as Nero's is 161k. Quite a big difference.

Just like I told you :sly: That's so good to hear and like you said maybe someone else with that exact error when importing scripts into scenarist will appreciate this solution. Glad to have helped.
