I have set it to 7 pass in options, is it doing 7 or 6? Is the first vaf pass a "proper" pass?

also is there any known discs dvdrb doesnt do?

And a popular one this i know.... how many passes do you do (Probably been asked alot)

Also, of course this is just an opinion and you are free to do whatever you please, but there have been some fairly extensive tests done on the benefits of doing more or less passes in cce. And it was found that there is almost no benefit to doing more than 1+1 or 1+2 passes in CCE settings, (meaning setting the number of passes to either 2 or 3). The link to the thread is below:

If you set passes to 2 it will do a vaf pass then an additional 2 passes.

I found that setting:

vrb bias=10
Quality prec=4
passes=2 for movies under 2 hours
passes=4 for movies over 2 hours

Works well.

Actually if you set it to two it will do a vaf pass then one additional pass. At least thats how it works on my computer.

VBR_passes
Sets the total number of passes the CCE encoder makes. NOTE: This setting is not equal to CCE's "passes" setting because CCE does not count the initial .vaf creation pass.

To clarify: If you normaly encode using three passes you would set this value to 4, and if you want five passes you would set it to 6.

The "VBR_passes" value equals the number of passes plus the initial .vaf creation pass.
