How to correct messed up VOB-IDs?

It's a HK Anime DVD Import. For an example, the VOB-IB for chapter 8 is the same for chapter 3, so if I'm currently at chapter 7 and I press NEXT, it'll go to chapter 3 instead of chapter 8.

Instead of a screen capture, it might be easier to just copy the info from pgcedit and paste it in your message with "[code]" tags.
In any case, I remember your post from VideoHelp.
Apparently, the cell mapping is screwed up, and you can change that in PgcEdit (and you did if I remember your last post there). Your question was that you couldn't go any higher than 18 for the VOBID, when you tried to change it in PgcEdit. I'm not sure where PgcEdit finds the upper limit for the VOBID that can be used in a cell (probably somewhere in the IFO tables?), but you should definitely check that you have VOBID higher than 18 defined in your Vob files. Use VobEdit to look at the vob files, and in the left panel you should be able to see Navigation Packs with VOB/CELL IDs. It might be that you need to use CellIDs different than 1 in some of your chapters...

Yes it looks like the highest value in the VOB is 18, so I can't go higher than 18. I tried changing the VOB ID using VOBEdit but it has no effect.

Make sure you look at all the vob files (if you have more than one in the VTS). Then if you really can't go higher than 18, it's either:
- That you have other pairs of VOB/CELL IDs that you're not currently referencing in the programs. For example, I see 10/1 and 10/2, maybe your chapter 8 should be 6/2 and so on.
- That your vob files are "incomplete" (i.e. somehow you're missing some stuff).

Here's what I would do: I would preview the entire titleset in PgcEdit (use the Preview/Preview Full Domain menu), making sure you click the "info" check box in the preview panel. This will bring up an info panel and show you the current VOB/CELL IDs. You can browse through your entire VTS with the slider and see which pairs of VOB/CELL ids you have and to which chapter you think they correspond. Use a pencil/paper to make notes of which VOB/CELL Id pairs should correspond to which chapter. This should enable you to remap the PGC cells to the right pairs of VOB/CELL IDs in PgcEdit (it's an easy task).

How did your DVD get so messed up anyway?

It's a Hong Kong Anime DVD Import. I'm not missing any video chapters, the problem is with navigation like not being able to get to the next chapter by clicking NEXT.

What are displaying? intros and outros?

Very observant. Yes they are the outros and intros, so is this normal? It makes sense because it'll save disk space. How do I then split this DVD9 to 2 DVD5 if it refers to the same sectors?

You know...I've worked with alot of animes and in some way, your "episodic" DVD is doing what it supposed to do. Most episodic DVDs have you start each individual episodes with the intros > movie > outros. What you are asking is to bypass the intros and the outros and jump from actual end of episode 1 to actual start of episode 2. It could've been done one way by having another Title PGC with a program map with the intros and outros excluded. Then the author would've just put in a button on your menu to play this title version instead. Hmmm...seems like my only good proposal is to go for a movie only backup. You can then play with the assigning of programs and cells in your program map. Since you won't have menus then, you won't be disrupting the chapter selection menu button commands configuration.

I was playing aroung with PgcEdit's New "Play All" Title utility macro. You can add another mirror PGC in your Title Set and hopefully we can remove the guilty cells so that you have a straight forward program map with only actual epsiode cells. Of course, you scene selection would only be pointing to your original PGC Title so that would be bad. But, in a good way, you can use your Title or return button on your remote to switch to this new Title and you can use your chapter skip button. I haven't done this so it's going to be trial and error.
