i've encode a few multiAngle dvd using DVD-RB 0.67 & latest 0.68, when watch in my standalone (old pioneer dv-505,515, but problem not encounter in new pioneer dv-270-s or software player),
the scene before the angle start (most of the time happen during the chapter change and the Angle start at the same time), it will stuck they and not moving forward and the bitrate show by the player is 9.7/10.0, and have to use the remote scan button to bring the scene forward.
Have test the same movie using IC8 & Recode2 and dont have this problem.
Thanks jdobbs.
cheers!

i wonder if there is a way to compare the differences

I'd be interested in seeing if that were the case.

I recoginize that many people encounter hang problems or stutters and jdobbs doesn't. Is there anybody who could send jdobbs a DVD or transfer it to him via ftp?
I think if jdobbs had both the versions talked about in this thread the problem would be solved very very soon.
Soooo...is there anybody out there?

i've test further this 3 multiangle dvd, it appear that the movie not only 'pause forever' during angle change, it also pause 1 or 2 secs constantly during the whole movie at some chapter (this stutter' happened many times when i play the dvd using old pioneer dv-505,515 and just a few times happend when playing in new pioneer dv-270-s).(When using pioneer dv-270-s there are no 'pause forever' during angle change).
-The source disc are rip using dvd decrypter and no preprocessing.
-This 3 dvd are all released by the same studio.(i havent done any dvd that release by this studio before and also rarely encode multiAngle disc using DVD-RB, and i never had video stutter problem before)
-Since i've encode many disc using DVD-RB and not have one this stutter problem happen,
is it possible the program that the studio use to authoring their dvd are not compatible like other studio use?
-One of this few dvd when i run through dvdremake (import&export) it solve the stutter and angle pause problem, but another 2, after run through dvdremake still had the same stutter problem but the angle pause was fix.
-When transcode using Nero Recode and IC8, they all play fine.
Sorry for my terrible english.
cheers.

Transfering a complete dvd, even for testing is probably a no-no. Sending him an original is fine, of course :)

Would it be enough for VamPYR to e-mail or p.m. jdobbs the .ifo files (original files, files after DVD-RB and files after DVDReMake)?
Or would it be neccesary to have the .vob files aswell? If so, perhaps jdobbs could set up a poste restante or postbox address for users to send the discs by snail mail?

The ifo Files would at least be a start. But I'm not sure if jdobbs would get all the information he needs from that.
Another Idea: Is it somehow possible to build a sample (containing only the scene with the stutter/hang) and rebuild that? I know, the sample would be smaller than 4.3 gig, but perhaps we could force DVDRB to rebuild it?!

I did Starwars 4,5,6 and have the same problem where I have to skip part of the start where the picture hangs.
I then tryed to remove the angles only keeping the english angle (txt) in the beginning with DVDremake and encoded it with DVD-rebuilder v66, afterwards I got a 0,5 seconds delay when it shifted between the back of the spaceship ind the beginning to the front of the spaceship (Angle1) in Starwars 4.
This 0,5 second delay is not seen when I play it on a PC but always on my stand alone DVD player.
I havent tryed to run the DVDrebuilder output through DVDremake again after encoding but I will try this when I come home :D and see if this fix it?

i can email or send the ifo file to jdobbs if he need it, can also send the source dvd by mail and because my source disc was just an ISO image (DualLayer), i will copy full ISO file (video_ts content) and store it in two dvd-r.
@jdobbs
please let me know if you want me to send it.
cheers.

Can anybody tell me a quick fix?
Or is nessesary to do them all over in v69? :(
I f I run them through DVDremake will that fix this issue?
Cheers & Happy Christmas!

Make sure there is a problem on a disc before you fix it... this doesn't seem to be that common.
V0.70 will have a new "No reencode" mode so you can demux/remux.

Great Work! and this rebuild without encode is truly brilliant!
I have only seen the problem on all the Starwars movies.
actually this is the only DVD I have with multiple angles.
So does this mean I can fix it by ripping it to the HD again, and run DVDrebuilder to fix it (I have deleted my old working Dir)
I have the org movie but I would hate to start over again, it took some time to fix the random menu issue.
Happy Christmas!

NO reencode?? could you elaborate jdobbs? do you mean deselect a titleset from being encoded?
if so merry xmas to me!!

No.
This option does the three steps -- but no reencode occurs in the "Encode" phase. Instead the individual segments are demuxed during the "Prepare" phase. The purpose is to:
1. Allow a way to just remove audio/subs for DVDs that are only slightly over the limit.
2. Allow you to rebuild from a previously built DVD in the event you found a problem (like dropouts for instance) that could be fixed by a simple rebuild.

Well just to report that i'm still having audio drops and/or pauses.
1. DVDDecrypter -> ISO -> Mount ISO
2. DVD-RB v0.6.9 + CCE SP 2.67.0.27
2.1. No audio or anything left out
3. Burn with Nero
Audio drops
Pauses
What can i do?
The ofending titles are:
Troy R4
Star Wars I R4
The bad DVD player is:
Sony DVP-NC625
v0.6.9 has improvements, but drops are still there for MY bad luck :(
