Most of us have heard about Zoo Interactive's DVD Extra Studio (I witnessed this VERY impressive product at NAB earlier in the year. It has loads of potential, and a really talented and friendly programming team). If you haven't heard of this authoring tool, then you may, at least, have heard about the Who Wants To Be a Millionaire quiz DVD (http://www.zoo-tech.com/partners/celador.html), which is an awesome demonstration of what is possible with automated asset generation and multiple (hundreds-to-thousands!) of PGCs, combined with bit-shifting techniques, to keep track of gameplay, using the limited GPRM registers provided by the DVD Spec'.
I was interested to see this recently, too, which appears to be based upon similar principles, although actual details of the program itself are somewhat sketchy, to say the least:
