how do I record 5.1 audio via S/PDIF?

Hi folks,

I have a terratec aureon 7.1 space soundcard coming with an optical S/PDIF input (an a lot more...)

So, I connect my standalone HIFI CD-Player via optical toslink cable to the input of that soundcard.

And now I am a bit lost!
- there was Wavelab lite coming bundled with the card, but as far as I can see this is only recording in stereo!?

What do I have to do to record ALL channels?

-> There are a bunch of guides here which all require 6 input waves; my question is not handled: how do i GET/RECORD these channels?

but cd's are only 2 channel, don't worry about the others, and why don't you just rip the disc to wav with cd-ex?
