I am using DvdShrink to copy my personal DvD collection. However the final copy only seems to work on my Yamada 6600 DvD Player. It does not run on my laptop which has Windows XP Pro Spk 2. In fact in Windows Explorer I don't even see the files. I have used AnyDvd 3.2.8.3 for getting rid of the region settings, but disabling it has made no difference. I am using PowerDvD verion 5 to view the original DvD. Help!!!

I have this problem with DvdShrink version 3.1.7 onwards, and the same results happen with 3.2.

The problem is most likely not to do with DVD Shrink but the discs you are using.

The computer probably doesn't like the DVD format you are using.

You are correct, it was the cheap DVD-R discs I bought. But I don't understand how my Yamada Player seems to play them.

Some dvd players will run almost anything you through at them expecially the less expensive ones because the cheaper ones don't adhere to the dvd standard as closly as the more expensive ones. A good brand of media at a decent price are the ritek brand g04 or g05
