Just to let you (and others) aware...

The Philips and the NeuNeo will be able to play XviD as well. In fact any player that can play DivX files will be able XviD, because they are both Mpeg4

However, there is a catch. Because if some of your encodes contain GMC and/or Qpel, (ie: "Advanced Simple Profile" implementations) they may not spin in your proposed stand-alone player. So I would advise you check how you've generated your existing collection of Mpeg4 encodes, prior to purchase.

When it comes to GMC. With DivX, you can only generate encodes with 1warp-point. With XviD, you can generate encodes with 3warp-points.

Currently, there are no stand-alone players that support 3warp-point GMC. That said, the popular consensus is that DivX's 1warp-point GMC is a waste of time anyway...

When it comes to Qpel, you will have to check out players using the MediaTek chip-set (or the new Sigma EM8620L chip-set, which are very rare at the moment).

So, to underline... if you already have plenty of "backed up" Mpeg4 encodes. Check their properties before purchasing any stand-alone player!

The DV308 has lip-sync problems (verified with connecting to interlaced TV and PC monitor)

Picture quality with Mpeg-IV isn't very good, I have a Mediatek GE and that offers better PQ.
