i have 5 speakers and bass(5.1)
my soundcard is Creative's SBLive!
im having problems making one of the speakers work.
mo mattter how i connect my speakers to the pc, atleast one of them doesn't work.
i believe i have all the codecs and driver's that i need(i updated the card's drivers to the newest version and have ac3 MatrixMixer etc)
i set all my settings on the pc to 5.1 sound.
when i use the test that is supposed to check if all my speakers work all the speakers are in place(left, right, front left etc)
but that one speaker woun't work.
i know this isn't a problem with the speaker because if i connect the cables differently to the pc it would work(except that then a different speaker wouldn't work).
i tried many guides and nothing worked for me.
finally someone might say it'll never work but before i formated my pc all the speakers worked so there isn't a reason why it wuld change now.
any suggestions plz?

maybe your system is switched to 4.1 -> look at the sound tab

What kind of speakers and connected how? (spdif/analog?) Also, software could be the problem. Haven't tried the MatrixMixer, I use the latest ac3filter and it works fine (over spdif-if configured properly).

ac3 filter doesn't work for some reason
i have it installed(ver.0.70 fixed) but it woun't start when i playback audio.
i assure you without matrix mixer it still woun't work.
im connected to my speakers through spdif and can't really tell you what kind of speakers they are i don't know much about different kinds of speakers i just know mine are 5.1 so they're 5 speakers with one bass.
i tried changing the settings in my computer millions of times and no it isn't on 4.1
maybe i need to make ac3 playback everything somehow and that'll solve the problem.
problemn is when i set it to run through zoom player it still wount start.
p.s
thx for the replies

Are you sure the source audio is 5.1? Maybe it has no LFE channel encoded?

i don't think that's the issue
i did a test through a program in my sound card that is suppposed to show play a sound from every different speaker and say it's position(it says from the left speaker "left" then from a different speaker "rear left" etc.
the only one i don't hear in the test is one speaker.
as i said before it changes if i plug stuff diferently(a different one doesn't work) so it's not a problem with that actual speaker.
i don't thnink this is a hardware problem because my hardware was pluged the same way before when everything worked.
p.s.
i tried running many different audio types and with all of them i had the same problem

Extra, you might try looking for some answers either on the creative labs forum at forums.creative.com or especially on the forum for the www.kxproject.com. The latter is a set of amazing freeware drivers for Live, Audigy and Audigy 2 cards. The related forum is full of people who know these cards inside out and can usually figure out most problems with them.
Regards,
Steve.
