Navigation problem

Hello all.

I have re-authored a DVD using DIF4U, DCCE4U, ReAuthorist, Scenarist and IfoUpdate.

All went smoothly but when I tried wiewing the result with Media Player Classic on Windows the player freezed when I used the slidebar to jump to a random position. The same problem occured with VLC on MacOS X.

However there's no problem when navigating from chapter to chapter, fast forward etc. It also plays fine on two (Philips and Panasonic) DVD players I could use for testing.

What could be the problem ?

hi Ktulu,

to enable seeking in your back-up copy (and this assumes that it working in your original), you must check the 'VTS_TMAPTI TableTransfer' option in Ifoupdate. i would also highly recommend upgrading to batchifoupdate by trahald, in which case the option is called 'Transfer TIMEMAP and ADMAP'

I also discovered another problem: I tried to open the re-authored DVD with DVDShrink just to check that everything was OK in the DVD structure and it complained about a missing VOB file that didn't even exist in the original DVD !? (that is, VTS_01_06.VOB)

On the other hand, DVD2One doesn't complain at all.

Weird, uh ?
