Hi! Im decoding "The Core" PAL interlazed, im into my 11:th hour with it now:) and still 1.30 hour untill the cce coding is complete, :scared:hehe, I Wonder if there is any way to speed it up or some trix that can be made? A filter or dll plugin maybe? I know the result is worth waiting for, but over 12 hours is an awful lot of time:(

decoding?!

i guess you rather mean encoding...

anyway, basically no, you'll have to sit through the time - unless you're willing to invest $$$ in a new machine :)

seriously CCE is doing a very cpu intensive task - apart from the fact that you should probably best leave your computer alone and not have any background tasks running there's not much you can do concerning speedup - software wise, that is.

edit: anyway, it's not necessary to start a new thread for each and every question you're encountering... just continuing your old thread(s) is more than enough!

OK. yes i meant encoding ofcource:P sorry, I have a rather fast machine allready, what other hardware would I need to speed it up if possible, and how much would it cost? would be fun to know:P

If your machine is 'rather fast' but you're still taking 12 hours for a movie I can only guess that you might be doing too many unnecessary passes? Some people do 5, 6 or even up to 9, which really is a waste of time.

and btw, add a converttoyuy2(interlaced=true) to your avs

it is a little faster than internal cce converter.

The only truly effective way to speed up encoding with CCE is reducing the number of passes. If you are doing 5-pass encoding, you could be doing as many as 4 passes too many!

One pass VBR gives stupendous results, the downside being filesize is not predictable like Multipass VBR.

Try DVD2SVCD with the D2SRoBa plugin (bundled - go to www.dvd2dvd.org)
to do your rip. There's a RoBa FAQ in the D2S Basic forum here.
