jdobbs, it seems like a lot of the (advanced) users are adding hidden settings in the "Options" section of the .ini file, especially the TargetSectors parameter.

It would be really nice, if some of the most commonly used hidden settings could be accessed in the DVD-RB program itself, for instance in an "Advanced Settings" tab in the Options -> Setup window. It shouldn't be very hard to add a field where you could type in the TargetSectors value, you like, and transfer this to the .ini file etc.?

Also some of the other hidden settings described by Rockas in the help files plus perhaps the "vts_min_size" parameter could be nice to be able to access directly in the program.

...and ofcourse to have the background colour setting back, which I described in another thread!

Good suggestions!

I would like to add one if I may;

Since Dual Layer burners are becoming more prevalent it would be nice to have a something like a check box in the settings that would enable either DVD5 or DVD9 depending on your burner and or size of your project and automatically change DVD RB's settings accordingly.

I think jdobbs would like to keep the interface as simple as possible. even putting the option in an 'advanced settings' tab invites tinkerers who maybe shouldnt be to goof up solid standard options . you create more possibilities of troubleshooting problems that end up being user error.

ooh yes. and they always blame the program and never the fact they dont know what should and shouldnt be changed. why is it they "have been doing these things for years" as if that means they know how things work and why ? :D

The truth is I regret some of the things I have made available. Not adding them would have prevented a lot of self-inflicted wounds.

The only suggestions (regarding improvements) I would make regarding this great app are the following;

1. Regarding the Choose Path buttons (ie. Source & Output). Switching it to the file dialog window that has the options to make a new folder, as well as renaming. The +/- branching one currently being used is a bit inconvenient (having to make an output folder beforehand). Or at least add a "New Folder" button to it. ;-)

2. Another nice option would be to have an option in the prefs, that made the app trash the Work files after a successful transcode. I know you can do this manually, but...

I know these aren't major issues, just ones of convenience.

P.S. jdobbs, don't think I'm knocking your app in ANY way. I think it's one of the coolest things since sliced bread (and I will soon be making a donation, and hopefully get the VIP version). I was just kinda thinking out loud.
