I'm building a .NET wrapper for the SS2 SDK with C++ managed extensions. It works already but there is not much information about recording in the SDK, only a sample that records the raw transport stream. I can watch such a file with the mainconcept splitter but I want pva or mpg which the elecard splitter can handle as I assume it's the fastest and most reliable splitter which I need since I often skip. Can anybody tell me where I find GPL compatible source code or good information?

Try Replex:

Thanks Nic, this might be what I'm looking for. I definitively need to record as program stream.

I always experienced a lot of problems with replex, but
dvb-mplex (from libdvb of the same authors) always worked well.
In alternative you can try this patch to mencoder:
